Treasurer’s Report: A motion to accept the Treasurer’s report from October’s meeting was made by John Kletecka and was seconded by Kris Vogt.

Alliance:

  • January 25, 2015 is Winterfest.
  • For the next 3 years, the snow show will be held in Milwaukee.
  • Vintage/antique (35 years+) sleds can be registered as antiques and will not require trail passes.
  • AWSC is doing one raffle (tickets 100 dollars). Racine County Alliance bought a ticket.  If they were to win, they would raffle it off. In the past, the Wind Lake Drifters have bought a ticket.  Dawn Werner made a motion that the club also purchase a ticket. Brian Weller seconded it.

Safety Committee:  Students are currently enrolled for the snowmobile safety classes that will start in December.  New instructors are always welcome.  Please talk to Ken Werner if you’re interested.

Membership Committee:

  • Please get your memberships to Kelly Oberhart as soon as possible. Individual memberships are 25 dollars.  A family membership is 35 dollars. We have 45 memberships to date.
  • We are looking into getting a dedicated account at the bank that would be solely for memberships.  Individuals would be able to go online and use a PayPal account to pay and register as members.  Laura Roscizewski is working with Josh Lone to get this going for the club.

Fundraising Committee:

  • Tickets for this year’s gun raffle are available through Kelly/Al Oberhart or Rich Quilling.  When selling tickets, be sure to ask the individuals to print their first and last name CLEARLY and to not use nicknames.
  • Jim Lone made a motion to pay the bill for the ticket printing and Chad Hegemann seconded it.  Dover Inn pays for the costs and will reimburse the club. A big thank you to Joe and Shelly, from Dover Inn, for covering this cost.

Trail Committee:

  • November 15 and 16 are the dates for trail staking.  Anyone interested in helping should meet at Marshall Oberhart’s farm at 9am.  Anything that does not get done November 15 and 16 will be done the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
  • Kris Vogt and Justin Ehrhart have worked very hard on open/closed signs for the trails.  There are 6 signs and they look amazing.  When trails are open/closed, Greg will contact Kris Vogt and he will head the committee that will open/close the trails using the signs.

Activities:

  • The club Christmas party will, again, be joined with the Farming through the Ages group and will be held at the Ehrhart farm on December 13. We discussed gifts for the children.  We will have cinch sacks for the kids with the Wind Lake Drifters logo.  Brian Weller made a motion to pay the necessary expenses for the Christmas party and Jim Lone seconded it.  Please be sure to bring a dish to pass.  On Sunday, December 14, we will clean up.
  • The AWSC convention will be held in Lake Geneva, WI.  We will host a hospitality room for March 20 with several different raffles. If you’d like to help, please let Darren Slotty know.  Attached is a letter that you may wish to use as you request donations from individuals
  • Our annual Chili Dump will be February 7th.  Jeff Ehrhart and Dawn Werner made motions to pay for the expenses of the Chili Dump including toppings, paper supplies and drinks.

Old Business:

  • As mentioned at the last meeting, we will have an ad on the new trail map. Our ad for the trail map will have a graphic that was used on the drag and the open/closed signs.
  • We’re still looking for raffle prizes for our hospitality room at the AWSC convention. Feel free to use the attached letter when asking for donations.
  • We received a thank you from the AWSC Scholarship Committee for our donation to their silent auction that took place at the fall workshop that Darren and Greg attended last weekend.
